The story and photos from U.S. 30 in Hobart,IN. caused some misty eyes and great memories. I have several photos from Aug. 1969 showing myself @ age five in the Funnycar pits. Schartmann's Cougar,Coleman-Taylor's Torino and many others. That's where I first smelled nitromethane. I've got an airbrushed tag on the front of my pick-up trk. with the A.H.R.A./U.S.30 logo seen between the lanes on it. There are currently three 1/8 mile tracks an hour's drive or less from my home. When I go to any one of them I swear sometimes I can still smell the nitro eventhough there's no cars there using it for fuel. Great story. R.I.P. U.S.30.
2 mo still no magazine
A great magazine if you're into muscle cars. Not make specific, so you get to read about all the awesome cars from that era.
Great articles with lots of pictures. Cool
Hemmings Muscle Machines is a great magazine for a car enthusiast. My son even enjoys looking at it before his dad. My husband likes all of the magazines by Hemmings.
I love the old cars that you don't here about any more that are in Hemmings Muscle Machines. I grew up in the 80's and worked on many of them because that's all I could afford as a teenager. I enjoy the magazine so much I ordered a two-year subscription for my son.
Hemmings Muscle Machines is the only subscription I have renewed out of 6 including Hemmings Motor News, which Craigslist has made obsolete.
I recommend Hemmings Muscle Machines to every car buff.
