I love Cook's Country magazine and Cook's Illustrated magazine. Both are well written and interesting, however, Cook's Country has recipes that an average person could make at home, without fancy ingredients. There is something of interest in every edition. I keep my issues of both magazines for years and actually refer to them often. A wonderful gift.
I love Cook's Country magazine! Even my husband reads every issue! I use tons of the recipes and love to pull out my back issues when looking for inspiration. I love the pictures and the variety of meals. The articles explain the recipe creation process and talk about good/bad substitutions. Their product reviews are very helpful and I trust the info they provide. This is the Consumer Report of cooking magazines!
Cook's Country magazine explains why they prepared the food as they did and then gives recipes. One of the best magazines I get.
Cook's Country is a good magazine with lots of pictures and helpful information.
I love this magazine! The recipes are appetizing and tasty, no odd ingredients required. I like the reviews of products and kitchen tools/cookware, and especially the lost recipes feature. I like that they work out all the kinks in a recipe, creating multiple versions until it's perfect. I've made many meals from this magazine, all delicious! The design of the magazine is uncluttered, typefaces easy to read...when I'm trying to follow a recipe, I don't want to have the type printed over a picture of food for art's sake...it's a recipe, not a masterpiece. Gourmet should take notes! No ads inside the magazine-love that! Nothing is worse than having a million ads with recipes printed on the back. There are ads on the mailing cover only. The recipe cards are great for quick meals but I don't use them often.
