The size of this book surprised me. It is thick and covers more countries than I even know of what was formerly known as the 'Eastern bloc' of Europe. I'll admit that some countries I had heretofore never considered going but, with this book's engaging descriptions and attractive photos, my interest is now piqued!
I am a lot more familiar with and comfortable travelling in western Europe but I am ready to venture outside my comfort zone and start visiting the countries of Eastern Europe, especially knowing now that these countries are just as steep in history and culture as the west.
