About ESPN The Magazine

Going beyond just reporting scores, the magazine approaches sporting news with a more light-hearted and often-humorous approach, much like what is featured on the popular cable network. ESPN The Magazine is a go-to source for previews and predictions in all the major sports, mainly Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League, the National Hockey League, college basketball, and college football.

Each issue features several regular columns and sections including: "The Truth," which tackles some buzzworthy topic in the sporting world; "The Numbers," in-depth statistical analysis, and "The Fix," which appears at the back of the magazine and brings little-known sports stories to light. The "Playbook" section is a collection of news and quick hits across multiple sports. ESPN often publishes special issues throughout the year, which have recently included "The Perfect Issue," "The Photo Issue," "The Money Issue," "The Analytics Issue," and more. Perhaps no special issue is more popular or well known, however, than its annual "Body Issue," which is a collection of photos featuring scantily clad athletes that celebrate their chiseled physiques.

Fans of major sports who like their news with a little personality would enjoy a subscription to ESPN The Magazine!

ESPN The Magazine Subscription Video Review

My name is Jay Clarke and I love sports.

And like anyone who loves sports, I love reading about my favorite teams and athletes. There are some great sports magazines on the market and one of my favorites that I subscribe to is ESPN the Magazine.

One of the first things you’ll notice when your ESPN the Magazine subscription starts arriving is the size. It’s larger than probably any other magazine you’re used to getting and that makes for great pictures. The quality of the photography they have is fantastic and it’s really one of the things I love most about it.

As far as the writing, ESPN the Magazine sets itself apart from other sports magazines by not only covering what’s going on with your favorite teams and leagues, but by also going in depth to get you into the lives of your favorite athletes. More than stats and scores, if you’re interested in the personalities and lifestyles of both current stars and up-and-coming athletes then you’ll definitely enjoy the stories in this magazine. Perhaps a touch irreverent at times and definitely leaning towards a hipper take on sports, the articles are nevertheless both accurate and timely.

One of the other great things about this magazine is the additional access to ESPN Insider that you get with your subscription. Insider is ESPN’s fantastic online community with breaking sports news, interviews and stories that you can’t find anywhere else. Not only do our ESPN the Magazine subscription deals come out to an 80% discount off the cover price, but your subscription also gives you full access to ESPN Insider, an additional $40 value.

It's OK for a sports fan

Not a bad magazine. Find it interesting to look through. Some interesting parts. Though I feel SI is more detailed and diverse.

Perfect for a teenage boy

from Pittsburgh

I have been buying this for my 14 year old for the past 3 or so years and he absolutely loves reading it and always reminds me when it's time to renew. My 8 year old has also taken a liking to it. Anything to get them to read! Love it.

Enjoyable Mag for sports fans

By MES08

I enjoy the magazine - I wish I was able to pay for just the online copy and not get the paper copy.

Magazine is OK but unhappy with offer

By Youk

from N.E.

I bought the magazine mainly to get the insider online, which they said would be free, but in order to get it, you had to give your credit card number, which I refuse to do online. Thus no insider. The magazine is just OK

OK purchase

ESPN The Magazine is OK. The writing is good but a lot of the articles can be found online. The magazine is also very ad heavy.

Very impressed

By Shoeshine

I bought this ESPN The Magazine subscription for my husband, who is a huge sports fan. He thinks ESPN The Magazine is the best sports magazine available today - and I agree with him. I'm not even a sports fan, yet I catch myself picking up this magazine pretty often because I really enjoy the writing styles and fantastic photography.

birthday purchase

By sally

from california

I bought ESPN The Magazine for my husband for his birthday and he was so thrilled with it. It is a great alternative to the Sports Illustrated, which has more fluff and the swimsuit issue which I didn't want him to have! I recommend this magazine to everyone.

ESPN The Magazine

By No Headaches

from U.S.

Here it is in a nut shell. I purchased a year and they say it locks you in for the next year unless you call and cancel. They use bully tactics to get your renewal. The 1st and 2nd notice says to keep it coming send...... You would think...send no money means no 2nd year. WRONG. They send it to inhouse collections department and then regular collections and thats where the harrasment starts. This magazine is such a joke. Dont buy and save yourself some headaches.
