Over the years Essence magazine has started to do too much grandstanding. The magazine could be great if it didn't try so hard to preach ethics that might not be the beliefs of their subscribers. Too preachy and pushy on certain issues for my taste.

Beautiful representation sure to appeal to African American women and families as well as others. Always a good bet in terms of content and value.
Essence is a good magazine.

I definitely recommend Essence magazine to all my friends. Perfect for African American women and Hispanic women.

Essence incorporates topics and articles that are well written for people of any race.
I loved Essence magazine when Susan Taylor was involved in it. It has lost its appeal with her departure. It's more like a gossipy girl magazine now. I will not renew my subscription.
As I started to read my copy, it was going great until I got to page 55. What a show stopper. In one word
