Using the Shopping Cart
Magazines.com uses a "shopping cart" system that essentially operates the same way you would use a shopping cart in a retail store: you can put items in and take items out at any time. A "Buy" button appears next to each item throughout the online store. Simply click the button to add a subscription to your cart.
Each time you add a subscription you will see a list of the items currently in your shopping cart. If you want to add more items, click the "More Shopping!" button to go back to the online store. If you want to remove an item, simply change the quantity to zero and click the "Update Quantities" button.
If you wish to order multiple copies of the same item, simply add the item to your cart a second time. During checkout you will have the chance to specify the mailing address for each subscription.
You can always view the contents of your shopping cart by clicking the "Cart" icon found in the navigation menu.

Checking Out
When you have finished selecting the subscription you wish to purchase, press the "Check Out Now" button to advance to the payment and shipping area. At Step 1 of the checkout process, you will be prompted to set up a Magazines.com account by entering your email address and selecting a password. Your password needs to be at least four characters long, and can be any combination of letters and/or numbers.
Please note: Once you enter an email address and establish a password, our system will remember that relationship even if you don't actually place an order! If this is your first order with us, but you've previously entered an email address and password, you may want to try your first attempted password in the "returning customer" field.
Once entered, follow the instructions prompting you to enter your billing information, and the mailing information for each subscription. Even if you will be paying by gift card, our account set-up process requires a valid credit card to be entered.
At the final step of the checkout process, you will be asked to verify that your order information is correct before submitting the order. At this step, you will also have the opportunity to apply a gift card to this order. Once you are sure the order is correct, click the "submit" button.
At this point, Magazines.com will attempt to pre-authorize the charge. If this pre-authorization fails, you will get a billing error message that will prompt you to recheck your billing information or enter an alternate credit card. You will not be able to submit your order until there is a successful pre-authorization.
Once your order has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation. This confirmation will also contain your Order ID number. You'll want to keep this information in your records, as it will help our customer service staff better assist you should you need to contact us.
You should begin receiving your subscription(s) in 6 to 10 weeks (depending on the frequency of publication).

Payment Options

You may use your American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa. Make your future purchases easier by creating a personal "wallet" of frequently used addresses and payment options. Your information is secured with our strict military-grade encryption, keeping it private and protected.

Credit Card Security
You can transmit your credit card information over the Internet with absolute confidence. Magazines.com processes orders with a SSL Secure Commerce Server which utilizes military grade encryption to protect your credit card information, and all credit card information is encoded with strong encryption before storage. To further respect your privacy, Magazines.com does not release your credit card information or mailing address to any outside organizations.

Check Your Order Status
To check the status of your order, click the Account icon located at the top of each page. On the Account page you can enter your email address (make sure it is the same address you used to place the order) and your password. You can then view the status of all orders you placed in the last 60 days.

Canceling An Order
To cancel an order, please contact us by email or phone. Visit the How to Contact Us page for an online request form plus the customer service department's toll-free phone number and hours of operation.
When contacting us about an order, please be sure to include your name, address, magazine title(s) and confirmation number(s).

Nonstandard Addresses
We deliver to nonstandard addresses including military APOs/FPOs and correctional facilities.
Orders for delivery to APOs and FPOs can be entered online. Use the City field for the APO or FPO designation and select the two-letter code for the region (AA, AE, or AP) in the State field. If you have problems entering your order online, feel free to call us at 1-800-MAGAZINES (800-624-2946).
To place an order for delivery to a correctional facility, please call 1-800-403-8941 and a customer care representative will assist you with placing your order.

Delivery Estimates
Estimated delivery times vary depending on the magazine publisher and the frequency of the subscription. After your order is placed, we process the order and send it to the publisher for scheduling. The publisher then adds the request to their next production cycle. The frequency of your magazine determines when your first issue will arrive.
Estimated delivery is:
- 4-6 weeks for weekly magazines
- 6-8 weeks for monthly magazines
- 7-10 weeks for seasonal magazines
- 1-4 weeks for newspapers
Please feel free to contact customer care if you have not received your first issue by the end of the estimated delivery time period.
