About Highlights High Five

The collection of articles, puzzles, and activities in every issue are designed to promote reasoning, problem solving, and creative expression during a child's formative years. Parents can help develop a lifelong love of learning in their kids with the simple yet educational activities, such as crafts and easy recipes they can work on together.

Poems, stories, exercises, and games round out the regular features found in the magazine every month. Some of the kid-favorite sections include: "My First Hidden Pictures," a challenging, but entertaining puzzle which encourages attention to detail and observation skills; "Let's Read Together," which parents can read to children or help them sound out words as they begin to learn to read independently; and "Let's Do It," an easy recipe children can make with parental supervision. Bonus pages at the end of the magazine often include matching games to encourage memory development.

A subscription to Highlights High Five magazine would offer young children hours of entertainment with the many fun yet educational features in every issue!

I got Highlights High Five for my granddaughter who is 7. She spends every Friday night with her Pappy and me. We sit together and read this magazine cover to cover. Every Friday when she walks in the door she asks if she got her new magazine in the mail yet. We make the recipes that we see (like lemonade) and play the games we see (like memory.) It's just wonderful to turn the TV off and spend true quality time together doing something we love.

My grandkids love this magazine. They range in ages of 3-6. The older ones especially like the hidden pictures. Sometimes they're so hidden, that Grandma can't find them.

Overall --- great magazine for young children.

why so high price for children

    By door

    from c

Why is the magazine so high priced. you would think if your buying it for so many years, and a couple subscriptions each year. you would get a better deal. I don't know if i'm going to renew them. next year it's going to be 3 subscriptions. TOO MUCH MONEY,

    Highlights High Five

    By Nana

    from marietta, GA 30062

Highlights High Five magazine contains a variety of stories & activities my 3 1/2 yr old granddaughter loves. Contains stories to read with an adult, stories to encourage increased interaction with the child, a removable board game of some sort, regular each-issue activities....... Today the story that begins to teach some basic Spanish terms in each issue is a good move. All in all - excellent choices for the age level advertised.

    High Five

    By Elisabeth

    from Washington State

My son has had a two year subscription to Highlights High Five magazine and has loved getting it. We read the stories, and he does all the puzzles, but now that he is almost 6 1/2 he is growing out of it and we received the last issue this month so perfect timing for me. The only thing was the price $35.00 is a lot of money to put out though I do keep them and will have him use them and then when he is done with them, I have a friends son who can use then next.

My 38-month-old loves Highlights High Five magazine. She's been getting it since she was 30-months. When it comes, she immediately goes to the Hidden Pictures page.
