The ads in Ladies' Home Journal are heavy, but the subscription price is kept low because of it.

I recieved the July 2008 issue of LHJ and looked through it in a matter of mintues. I took a marker and made a black on the Full and half page ads. Over half my issue is now marked with black XXX's. I find that I have wasted any money that I paid for my subscription. This is the first time I have subscribed to this magazine in many years because I have been working and have a busy schedule. I find that your current magazine does not compare favorable to the LHJ that I have taken in previous years.

I have subscribed to 3 magazines for years, but when it comes to the LHJ, i will sometimes let it expire for 2 or 3 years... and if i come across a really good deal, i may try it again for awhile. After looking throegh the past few issues, i am ready to let my subscription lapse again. I am very offended by a new LHJ approach to try to entice women to buy some things that might really put a hole in their household budget. These recent articles are both blatant and subtle at the same time. The item/items pictured in these articles are very tempting. LHJ has a new approach when showing readers some things that are way out of most of their readers price range. LHJ literally puts these kinds of words in the high-priced pages: "YOU DESERVE THIS !!". Because of our lagging economy in the past few years, most woman don't need to be tempted to buy expensive things that are great to have, but very high-priced! The women that I am most in contact with have shrunken budgets and would much prefer LHJ to show them items that are in style, good quality, and in their more affordable price range. We may all feel there are many items out there in the market place that ''we deserve", but because of rising prices on the ''really needed'' items (gas, groceries, utilities, etc.), none of us need to be tempted to go out and buy "what LHJ tries to get us think: we deserve''. The last thing readers of LHJ should be led to think after we read your magazine is:
''I love this purse, i would love to have this purse, i really do 'deserve' this purse, but there is no way that i can afford it. But, oh, how I wish we had more money." Ladies Home Journal, I sincerely hope you re-think your approach in trying to entice readers with "YOU DESERVE THIS". PLease do not edit this. Thanks for being open to suggestions!!!
I order magazines for a public library. Ladies'Home Journal is a popular publication with our patrons. We allow non-current issues to circulate. These circulate quite a bit. People enjoy the variety and content of the articles.
Great for recipes and tips for daily life!
pretty good magazine
Ladies' Home Journal is a very good magazine for the money.
As someone under 30 and with no kids, I find that almost all of the articles in Ladies' Home Journal magazine are relevant to subjects I'm interested in. The content is predictable - but in a good way.
Ladies' Home Journal magazine is a good magazine for the price. It has some good informative articles.
Ladies Home Journal magazine has been a favorite of mine for many years. The articles are in-depth and relevant to my interests. It is a magazine I trust and I consider the information reliable. Ladies' Home Journal magazine is a bit ad heavy but some ads include coupons for items I usually purchase. It is a good overall buy. I recommend this magazine to all women over the age of 25. I do not think the under 25 crowd would find relevant stories in this magazine.
I have subscriptions to several magazines, and Ladies' Home Journal one is one I really enjoy. It regularly has interesting ideas for the home, for food, fashion and useful health information. It isn't expensive and it's a great value.
