I thought I loved Martha Stewart's magazine. I found out I only love her Halloween and Christmas magazine though. Everything else is no good. Martha's ideas only work in her multi million dollar homes. The average person can not use her ideas without taking out a mortgage. As for the cooking part, what is with all the latest magazines? Everyone wants you to buy items that are high dollar, you would have to scour the city to buy it or pay to have it mailed to you. Then after spending a hundred plus dollars on a dish and hours of prep and cooking, you find it may not pass your families simple taste bud requirements. Martha went from a person the small crafter and baker could acheive to over the top impossible. My last 6 magazines all went in the trash after an hour of looking at them. There wasn't a single thing usable. Martha needs to return to some grass root basics or she will loose interest in the population. I personally am depressed she has gone this route. I loved everything she did. Now I'm just disappointed.

Good recipes, but too sparse

By Hobby Cook

from Springdale, AR

I have had a great experience with other Martha Stewart publications, but didn't realize that this one had a joint focus with decorating, etc. I'm not interested in those elements of the publication so I'm cancelling. The recipes that are included are mostly high quality and draw on a variety of culinary influences and ingredients in a way that is accessible to a wide range of people.

Subscribers Beware!!!!!

By A new subscriber

from usa

I subscribed to Martha Stewart Living early in January 2012. On January 18th, I received my first issue...the 2-month-old DECEMBER 2011 issue. I don't know about you, but I have little use for an old Christmas issue at the end of January so I wrote to request that my subscription begin in January when I actually subscribed. I received a response telling me that

Magazine is heavy and glossy. Beautiful to leave out on coffee table. Doable ideas and crafts. One of my faves!

This magazine is a very quick read. I can get decorating ideas, but wish there was more to the magazine.

My home-style inspiration

By Chalupacabra

from South

I love Martha Stewart Living magazine, though I normally feel like an underachiever after reading it. The art direction is stunning, and I like to take the ideas and modify them to fit a more realistic budget. If you get creative, you can recreate a lot of the concepts without spending a ton. Martha Stewart seems to live in a fantasyland where everybody owns several country estates with glamorous names and has pet sheep imported from New Zealand, but bless her, her world sure looks like a nice place.

Thoroughly enjoy each month

By bryn

from Idaho

I really enjoy Martha Stewart Living magazine. I look forward to it each month. The decorative ideas...the food. Who doesn't want to be like Martha? Even if you won't admit it....there is a secret part of you that does.

Very Ad heavy!

By Mer

from Long Island, NY

I love this magazine, But......there are literally ads on every page! you turn the page and one side is an Ad and the other is maybe something short and sweet from Martha. There are 3 articles in the middle of the magazine without ads. The rest of the magazine is Ads Ads Ads. The amount of money Martha earns from Ads, you would think the magazine would be free by now! Thankfully I bought it at Magazines.com and got 50% off!!
