About Time

First published in 1923, Time boasts the world's largest circulation for a subscription news magazine.

The news weekly includes several regular features in each issue, and additional content is organized into these sections: "Briefing," a round-up of news in regularly covered topics of world and national politics and government, business, and health; "Commentary," opinion columns from well known guest contributors; and "The Culture," analysis on a mix of entertainment, pop culture, and travel.

Perhaps best known for its iconic signature red border on the cover, Time has only changed it four times in its lengthy history: after the September 11th attacks, the 2008 Earth Day issue, the 10th anniversary of September 11th, and the December 31, 2012 Time issue selecting Barack Obama as "Man of the Year." Throughout the year, Time publishes two very popular special issues. Its most famous annual issue is the "Person of the Year" issue, in which it recognizes an individual or group of individuals in the publication's opinion who have had the biggest impact on news headlines over the past year. In some cases the Time "Person of the Year" is selected because of a negative impact made over the course of the year. Another very popular annual Time issue is "The 100 Most Influential People in the World" issue, which is filled with color photos and articles about their lives. Time also regularly publishes commemorative editions related to anniversaries of historic events, tragedies, and other newsworthy subjects as needed.

People who love to keep up with the latest headlines at home and abroad would enjoy a subscription to Time magazine!

Time Magazine Subscription Video Review

Hi. I’m TV and radio host Patricia Lopez.
Even though I have lots of choices about how and where I get my news from, I continue to turn to Time magazine. Like everyone else, I get tired of being bombarded by news on the Internet and TV and enjoy the fact that I can sit down and read my Time magazine at home.

The first thing I do when I get my latest Time magazine issue is read the “Milestones” column. It’s one page of historical moments and blurbs about significant cultural events. Usually I learn about something I can’t easily find anywhere else just from reading this page.

In my opinion the job of a weekly news magazine is to go a step beyond newspapers to provide a more balanced and analytical view. Time does a great job in this respect.

Its coverage is both proactive—covering topics that need to be exposed and reactive—providing commentary on important events across the globe. I also really enjoy Time’s coverage of pop culture. I can trust their movie, book and album reviews.

I appreciate the diversity of Time’s reporting and the mix of articles. And it’s not just politics; Time has regular coverage of art, community, health and religion. While providing humorous, lightweight sections that are great, quick reads.

In addition to the reporting and writing, Time always has outstanding photos, diagrams and infographics that make detailed articles more comprehensible. I enjoy this magazine’s visual design as much as the information.

Still, my favorite issues are the special issues that focus on the big picture of one subject—environment, community, invention, new leaders or the Time 100 that highlights the most influential people in their fields; the list goes beyond business and politics and includes artists.

This magazine is very liberal. Beware, if you are a right wing republican you will not enjoy this magazine. I have noticed it's bias since the beginning. I used to enjoy this magazine for it's interesting news article. But the magazine is playing with politics and I will soon be canceling it.

Wiseman has written one of the most poignant articles I have ever read! In addition to presenting in-depth findings, she gives personal opinions and compassionate guidelines which anyone who is responsible for/responsive to the the rearing of boys could follow. I found myself referencing this article in most of my conversations over the past week. She really "nails it on the head"! Thank you !!!

I use Time magazine to bring balance and focus to the news that I see on
TV. The perfect balance is achieved by listening to NPR and reading Time magazine.
          Thank you.

There are so many media outlets vying for one's attention, I find it can be hard to keep up with the diversity of subjects required for cultural competency but Time magazine helps me do just that. I can't count the number of times a subject will come up in conversation and articles in Time will help me understand the issues. The magazine covers
items from the CERN collider to Miley Cyrus...

Definitely not the Time I depended on years ago in college. The long articles are too long, and too often not about what interests me. I much prefer The Week magazine with short but interesting articles on a range of subjects from world affairs to art. Come to think of it,just like Time used to be.
Also, Time sent me a snazzy weather center clock, but with no instructions so I not only can't operate it, I cant even read it!

Have been sending this to my grandsons for Christmas for a few years, seems much better than giving them underwear or socks. Getting something in the mail weekly from me, keeps me in their mind. Also getting a kid to read anything is a big plus.
