Victor and Margaret Meldrew (Wilson and Crosbie) are recently retired upper-middle-class folks who have yet to actually settle down. If anything, retirement has brought them more headaches than the working world ever did. These problems are propelled mainly by Victor's constant gripes at the world around him, which bloom into full-blown debacles, especially when neighbors Patrick (Deayton) and Pippa Trench (Duvitski) become involved.
