AS I work my way through American Handgunner magazine I become more and more aware that I am being 'updated'. Newest mechanical and technical accomplishments, latest in firearm improvements, current firearm personality presentations and accomplishments, and perhaps most of all, a sense of national connection.

  • Pros: Handgun-centric content for handgunners
  • Cons: As with any publication, ads=content

There are only two modern handgun specific magazines available, to my knowledge. All the others, while they cover revolvers and pistols, they also are heavy on reloading and scopes for long guns. I'm about to lapse all of my subscriptions except for American Handgunner magazine and one other. The only reason I recommend for adults is the complexity of some articles. Better for an adult to read them aloud to the young people to reiterate safety concerns.
