Great resource for the die-hard, great day-dream for the novice on February 10, 2010 by Tommy from Nashville, TN

  • Pros: Great pictures, stories, ads and relevance to the water sport world
  • Cons: none

I can't get on the water like I used to, so I find Canoe & Kayak magazine a great way to paddle vicariously. I recommend it to paddlers of any level.

Don't Waste Your Money ! ! on July 17, 2009 by ChuckO from South Carolina

  • Pros: New product reviews
  • Cons: More ad pages than interesting info -Skewed Reviews

I thought Canoe & Kayak would be a good magazine to keep me informed of new products and ideas. It turns out there are very few articles and a lot of advertising--over 50% of the pages are ads. I did not renew and would not accept a FREE subscription. It's not worth my time!

Canoe & Kayak on April 14, 2009 by GSRDR from N. Cal

I am a new subscriber to Canoe & Kayak and for the most part I have enjoyed the adventure. I have gotten a wealth of paddling ideas as well as some quality drool time on the products offered up in the magazine. I've particularly found the essays fun and insightful. That's what paddling is about for me, my family and the little group we ride with. We definitely live in a time when we all must take responsibility for the environment seriously when out in its magnificence. However, the end does not justify the means!

Canoeing? on June 27, 2008 by Ron from Herkimer, New York

  • Pros: If you want to Kyak this is for you!
  • Cons: If you are a canoeist forget this mag.

This Magazine used to be excellent. I am a canoist and the content has become 90% for Kyakers which is fine for them but not for me anymore. I realize what the market is but there are still plenty of us out here who canoe and would like a magazine which is more representative of our sport. Also little or no suggestions from canoists on equipment for trips. It is hard to believe how dramaticly this magazine has changed. I will not renew my 15 year subscription unless the next two issues show some change. No big deal to you!
