- Pros: No adds, interesting stories, cute design
- Cons: Most pieces are lengthy
Amazing magazine. The inside design is quirky and fun. The stories they use really do interest me as a teen, they don't preach to you about how to behave. I like that many sections of the magazine are written be teens, there is a large community built around Cicada.

Cicada magazine features stories that are both very poorly written and poorly edited. It focused too heavily on marketing, too little on improving the minds of readers, and allowed extremely foul language to be needlessly published in one of the stories. All the faith I had in the company that publishes Cicada is lost and I am deeply saddened.
