Worst Country Magazine EVER on January 03, 2012 by CountryDweller from Tennessee

  • Pros: A page or two worth reading, maybe
  • Cons: Shabby chic, overdone homes in nothing but WHITE

WAY too many ads, some city person's notion of what country should look like. I live in the country in a country home and believe me, this magazine represents NOTHING of my life or the way we live. Absolutely pathetic. Cancelled my subscription and will never pick it up again.

Good Purchase on December 20, 2011 by Nan from Southern Wisconsin

  • Pros: Good articles, suggestions on cost effective changes to a room. The pictures are appealing
  • Cons: Too much advertizing

I enjoy receiving this magazine. I like the simple suggestions for changing decor. The photos of furniture arrangements are appealing to me. Good articles for change of seasons.

country living on December 19, 2011 by linda from savannah ga

  • Pros: sometimes an occasional good issue
  • Cons: no substance, cheap paper, too many ads

colonial homes, country living, victoria all were great magazines. i too could not wait until they arrived. it was like a mini vacation.i have these magazines going back to the 70's. when my friends and i were building and decorating many people borrowed them. now my daughter and her friends are all asking to look at the old magazines.i must admit i have had to insist that they look at them in my house and i have a colored copier to make copies of pages.i lost too many of my treasured issues. can't say i blame them.colonial homes started putting many small pictures in their magazine and it just wasn't the same. it took away the feel that you were there.country living has cheapened their paper and it is very irritating to look at this book when the pages stick together from static cling. i an so sorry i will not be renewing this book.there are many more things on the internet now.

Country Living subscription on November 25, 2011 by CountryGal from US

I love receiving this magazine each month in the mail. The pictures are lovely, and I enjoy that it branches out a bit beyond just decorating--into recipes, fashion, antiques, etc. A fun, creative read.

Use to be a fan on October 28, 2011 by Busy from Northern California

  • Pros: Some nice quaint articles and ideas
  • Cons: Too many ads, too little content, non-practical items

When I started reading Country Living a few years ago I loved the ideas, tips and pictures. The last year or so it seems to be targeting a shabby chic or kitschy audience who has money to spare. For example, their finds are often over priced tacky items like a $60 stapler shaped like an animal. It is not worth my time to look at the magazine anymore and I canceled my subscription.
