Great basics reviews on November 04, 2010 by Paul from Connecticut

  • Pros: Instruction and hints on drawing from experts in the field
  • Cons: Nothing significant

I was drawn to the magazine by the instructional articles by Dan Gheno in Drawing Highlights issue Oct.17,2007 and have subscribed since then. I have enjoyed and profited from what I consider to be a great magazine for the artist and aspirants.

Great Drawing Magazine on July 31, 2010 by artist99 from NY

  • Pros: In-dept articles and technique
  • Cons: Only published quarterly

Drawing magazine is a great magazine with articles on different mediums. I specifically like the articles that show demonstrations. I save all of my issues and refer to them constantly.

ABOUT DRAWING

Drawing was launched in 2003 to provide working artists with information and inspiration regarding the foundation of art: drawing. Whether one works in watercolor, oil, silverpoint, or clay, most every endeavor begins with a sketch. For many artists, the drawing constitutes the finished work. Finally, here's a publication that focuses on it all - fine art created with graphite, Conte crayon, charcoal, metalpoint, etching tools, and other materials. Learn about the techniques of masters from Andrew Wyeth to Leonardo, from Wayne Thiebaud to Lucian Freud, from the Renaissance to today, in Drawing.
