While it features some beautiful design ideas and products, this magazine caters to a high-end audience and is very ad-heavy. If you have $60 to spend on a beach towel or are adept at finding low-price substitutions, this magazine can be inspirational. Unfortunately I'm neither rich nor seasoned in knock-off design, so each reading usually just leaves me feeling incredulous that people will spend so much on things that can be had for much cheaper. I'm well-educated and middle class, but I guess this magazine is intended for people of nobler origins. My subscription was a gift and I won't be resubscribing.

Elle Decor was first published in France in 1987 and 2 years later an American edition was published by Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S., Inc. Hachette also publishes Elle. Large colorful photos help to give vision and inspiration for the international flair that is encompassed in this magazine.
