  • Pros: Has decent traditional-style patterns, often with kits avail.
  • Cons: It is somewhat a catalog for their own products

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting is not quite as good as Quilters Newsletter Magazine, but it has plenty of good tips, humor, an assortment of patterns, and many of the featured quilts can be purchased in kit form.

  • Cons: Only comes out every other month!

Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting a wonderful quilt magazine. I keep my issues and go back through them as does my daughter, when looking for a new project. Sometimes the articles are featured on their television show on PBS. The instructions are clear. They know what they are talking about. Periodically there are corrections, but they post them on their website and update that regularly -- I don't have to hunt through the next magazine to look for the changes -- like most other magazines. Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting is definitely a great magazine and one to consider reading if you enjoy sewing,quilting and crafts. Also, while not written for kids, there are lots of articles about things to make with or for babies and children as well as others of all ages.
