I saw an ad in a comic book in the early 60's to sell Grit newspaper and pocket some change. I ordered 20 papers and sure enough, here they came. Soon, I had a regular route of customers that always wanted their new Grit. That was my first way to learn to make money and provide a service to others that appreciated it. I began ordering more papers and delivered them even though I had gotten a paper route with the Daily Oklahoman. I was only 8-yrs-old when I began selling and enjoying the reading material in Grit.

As a young boy of 13, I sold Grit door-to-door in Chattanooga, TN. I enjoyed reading a recent issue very much as I did not know Grit was now in a magazine format. I will definitely be looking for it.
