  • Pros: very kid friendly, many varied activities

I enjoyed Highlights for Children magazine when I was a child and now I can relive the fun with my three children---20, 8, 6. The Hidden Pictures activity is one of their favorites. This is a great magazine for children 5-12.

Highlights---Better Than When I Was A Kid on July 06, 2010 by Krissy from U.S.

It is amazing what you remember growing up. I loved getting mail and when the Highlights for Children would come it was always be a fight with my sisters on who would get to read it first. This is still true today. My two boys (8 & 9) can't wait for Highlights to come.

Highlights for Children magazine is an award-winning educational magazine for young readers. Highlights for Children magazine helps children grow in basic skills and knowledge, creativity, logic and reasoning. Regular features include "Fun to Read," "Fun to Do" and "Fun Things from You." In "Fun to Read," you'll find "Goofus and Gallant" a cartoon of two boys, one who has good manners and one that does not. There are stories about history and real people, fiction and science. In "Fun to Do" there are puzzles, riddles, games and jokes. There are also simple craft projects and science experiments. "Fun Things from You" features drawings, poems, jokes and letters to Highlights. First published in 1946.
