Highlights for Children on April 23, 2009 by Grandma Jeanne from Oklahoma City

  • Pros: Colorful and fun

I love Highlights for Children. The only good thing about going to the dentist's office when I was small was they had Highlights for Children. I ordered this magazine for two of my 10 grandchildren.

Rememberable on December 11, 2008 by Many memories from Forney, Tx

  • Pros: Top Quality Magazine
  • Cons: I had to wait 'til next month for more fun

I am almost 56 years old. I was living with my grandmother at the age of 6. My mom (lived away from me at the time) sent me a subscription. The mail delivery of Highlights was the most rememberable time of my early childhood. I will send a subscription to my grandson as soon as he is old enough to comprehend the material ( He will be 3, Dec. 29)

Looking forward to it on July 31, 2008 by mom-to-be from Boston, MA

I did not grow up in the US, so I had never heard of this magazine until a year ago when I picked up several of them at a yard sale. I was so impressed I knew I would want a subsribtion for my future child. Now I am expecting and I am going to subsribe to it in advance. I am really looking forward to read it with my son. The magazine is full of good educational articles that also build a good character, teach manners, etc. It's very refreshing to see such wholesome material. It reminds me of the magazines I read as a kid growing up in Eastern Europe. The big plus of this publication is that it's age appropriate which is especially important nowadays when you see little kids exposed to adult stuff. Personally I want my child to have a normal childhood without the everpresent pop-icons, rap and movie stars.
