I taught myself as a child to sew, then later quilting and machine embroidery and have earned ribbons for my quilts including First Place. Quiltmaker is my favorite magazine. They offer very 'do-able' patterns and as you advance, they also offer machine embroidery and embellishing ideas you can add to the simple and intermediate patterns. As for articles, they are as long as they need to be to explain how to make the quilt including templates and suggested quilting designs. They will not leave you stranded as to how to make and finish the quilt completely.

Quiltmaker magazine is always packed with easy to do quilts. There are many quilting lessons with easy to follow photos. I consider it one of my lowest calorie treats!

My last issue of Quiltmaker magazine arrived and I was looking forward to it. However, when it it came it was ripped about a quarter of the way into the back of the magazine, like a machine chewed on it. I wonder if you put them in plastic bags like some magazines do it would protect them. I like to keep my Quiltmaker magazines and refer back to them.
