Absolutely Great Magazine on July 17, 2009 by Questionmark from Baltimore, MD

  • Pros: Revealing, Informative, Interesting, Up to Date, Objective, Professional yet Not Overly Technical
  • Cons: Only that there are not more issues put out

This magazine is so excellent my review cannot do it justice. I absolutely without hesitation recommend it to anyone who has any amount of serious interest in neuroscience and psychology. Every issue is packed with information that is not only extremely educational and informative but extremely interesting as well. The writers of the magazine's articles are very knowledgeable of the subject matter and convey the information very well--not being overly simplistic or dumbed-down while not being overly technical and difficult to read either. The reader gets a good deal of revealing and interesting information, but he/she does not need to have an advanced education to understand it. I find that the writers are often impressively insightful and objective as well. Scientific American Mind stands out as being the only magazine that is not just a collection of what is primarily pop-psychology and pop-science information dealing with pop-cultural topics. It does not: oversimplify, overgeneralize, over-characterize (as other magazines do), for the most part, relatively speaking. The writers and contributors are by in large, if not solely, experts in the field; not just journalists who quote a professional here and there and derive their own overly simplistic and less-than-accurate conclusions. Let me summarize: I thank all that is good for Scientific American Mind.

Scientific American Mind on April 25, 2009 by Brad from USA

  • Pros: cutting edge, current, scientific, practical

I am a psychologist and came across Scientific American Mind two years ago. It is simply a terrific magazine if you have any interest in neuroscience and the brain-behavior connection. It is not written in an overly-scholarly style, but is fun to read and always interesting. I am ordering back issues.

One Of The Best on June 26, 2008 by Proud Texan from Texas

  • Pros: Interesting & Authoritative
  • Cons: None

From the first magazine I was hooked. This magazine has a few small articles between long, in-depth articles. It's a nice mix between the two. If you have an interest in neuroscience and/or psychology, don't hesitate to purchase a supscription. I've checked out other "psychology" magazines and they turn out to be nothing more than cosmo with a psychology title. This magazine gives you what you expect to come from a psychology magazine.
