Please Bring Back Southern Living on September 13, 2009 by Bootsie from Texas

  • Pros: none
  • Cons: very much

I see Southern Living magazine is reducing their price for very few issues: That won't help! We want our old Southern Living back! It is so ad heavy now, but if you don't change the format to the old format that won't matter because they'll be out of business. I hope the magazine notices that we, the reviewers, are all in agreement.

Magazine Quality Has Gone Downhill on August 22, 2009 by Florida Sunshyne from Florida

  • Pros: RECIPES
  • Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE MAGAZINE

Southern Living used to be my favorite magazine but the quality has greatly deteriorated. I don't buy the magazine anymore and I don't miss it.

Used to be My Best Magazine Purchase on August 02, 2009 by MiMi from Alabama

  • Pros: they still have some good writers
  • Cons: changed the format

Southern Living magazine has gone from being really special to just average now. I don't like the change from a larger magazine to one that looks like all the others. I wish the editors would go back to the original format. I'm sure most of Southern Living's customers would much prefer that and would be willing to pay a little more to have it a little larger again.

Where Have All the GOOD Magazines Gone? on July 20, 2009 by Chug from Texas

  • Pros: Not very many
  • Cons: Very many

Southern Living where oh where have you gone? I have all the past issues of the last 15 years because I am unable to throw these wonderful pages away. What have you done? It is not the same magazine and not worth keeping anymore. When you go back to the original outline, I'll go back to my subscription.

Use to be Excellent on June 09, 2009 by Deb from North Carolina

  • Pros: What recipes there are are good
  • Cons: The magazine has definitely gone down hill and is not the same quality that it use to be

I have subscribed to Southern Living since I was 21 years old, which is for 43 years, but I will not renew my subscription this year. The content and quality have definitely got bad and the editors and writers don't seem to care. I do not like the change that was made this year. I will miss receiving Southern Living, but I already have missed the quality magazine it use to be.
