Southern Living on March 14, 2009 by Aunt Bea from USA

  • Pros: Love the gardening
  • Cons: Overall magazine has gone down in quality.

The recipes in the Southern Living magazine were very good several years ago. Now they are becoming very ethnic.

My F A V O R I T E Magazine...for years on February 26, 2009 by Julie from Indianapolis, Indiana

I LOVE SOUTHERN LIVING!!!! I save all of my issues for easy access to great recipes, gardening tips and decorating ideas. The recipes, unlike a lot of those in other popular magazines, are easy and include ingredients that most people have on hand. I love the suggestions for all kinds of plantings for every season and their decorating ideas are always fun to read and get tips! I live in the Midwest, not the South, but definitely can incorporate their articles into my lifestyle. I also enjoy the travel section. We are taking a trip to South Carolina this spring and lucky for me, there was a write-up about Charleston, SC and fun places to see. We will definitely try to visit their suggestions! I cannot say enough good things about Southern Living. I love giving it as gifts and trying the recipes. I honestly have not had a bad recipe yet!! Buy it, Try it...You'll see what I mean! ENJOY!!!

What Has Happened To SL on February 23, 2009 by Malia from Austin, Texas

This is NOT the Southern Living Magazine I began taking back in 1979! I quit taking it awhile back due to the supposedly new and improved changes, and they are anything but new and improved! I will not re-subscribe as long as the magazine stays as is!

  • Pros: none to mention

I have always loved Southern Living and looked foward to its arrival. The new formate is a disappointment. I can't decide if I should renew this year.
