Spin magazine is a good magazine overall and those who want to read about the younger hot bands of the moment will enjoy it most. I have had a subscription for several years and the content seems to have improved over the last year. The layout, format and photos are all nicely put together.

• Pros: some interesting new choices, good photography
• Cons: bland writing, quick to jump on the hype bandwagon

I enjoy reading my Spin every month, but it doesn't even come close to quality of Rolling Stone. I admire their 2 page photography section early on in the mag, but some of the articles are just too much hype for my taste. I will probably keep my subscription for a while, but if I had to choose, I'd say Rolling Stone was the easy choice.
