Disappointed Fan on May 23, 2009 by Still Cookin' in KY. from Monticello, KY.

  • Pros: still good source of recipesand reasonably priced mag.
  • Cons: disappointed in the changes in format.

We have become accustomed to getting all our information in paragraph sized chunks.I am disappointed that one of my favorite magazines--Taste Of Home--has succumbed to the instant gratification craze that has swallowed our society as a whole.I am considering canceling my subscription. I can go to the public library and peruse their copy and then check out more recipe books.

Was Taste of Home Magazine Sold to Someone Else? on May 22, 2009 by Cooking Fool from Lancaster, CA

  • Cons: I agree that the format changed for the worse--even my husband noticed the difference, and he doesn't even cook!

After subscribing to Taste of Home magazine since its inception, I had to cancel it for a few years (about 8) so that I could use the cookbooks that I already had. My husband really liked the old format, with the winning and runner-up recipes being easy to identify. So, even though I wasn't ready to start piling up magazines again, he went ahead and subscribed for me! But, after receiving the first 2 magazines, we both noticed all the changes.

Not Original Anymore on May 22, 2009 by Booboo from USA

  • Pros: access to all recipes on website with subscription
  • Cons: new format terrible

I have been a subscriber since Taste of Home's conception and have kept back issues. I don't think I saw a single recipe I will use in this latest issue. The only reason I might renew my subscription is to keep full access to their website recipes. I would have been willing to put up with the ads if they had stayed true to the original format. If I had wanted Better Homes & Gardens I would have subscribed to that.

Unhappy with New Format on May 21, 2009 by Sis from USA

Everyone I know who subscribes to Taste Of Home magazine is unhappy with the new format. The editors shouldn't have messed with a good thing!
