Hate the New Format of Taste of Home on March 31, 2009 by Vetry from Arizona

I hate the new format of Taste of Home. I just got my last magazine in the mail today and it will probably go in the garbage. I've been taking this magazine since the early 90's and I have everyone of them, except the last few I've received. I gave them to my daughter, because she was going to subscribe and now she isn't. I'm not going to subscribe because I hate all the ads and again hate the format. Taste of Home has ruined a good thing!

Depressing on March 28, 2009 by MidwesternMom from Midwest

  • Pros: None, it's like every other mag out there
  • Cons: No more originality but pricier than competitors

I have been a subscriber to Taste of Home since 1994. The imposter that is being published now is not even close to the true Taste of Home magazine that I came to know and love. I am very saddened to see what has become of this publication, all in the name of 'progress.' It is now filled with advertisements, articles are no longer nicely laid out in two-page spreads and the photography has gone to stock photos with models. The down-home feeling is no longer there. Knowing how fabulous it once was, I could not recommend the current magazine to anyone. For anyone thinking of subscribing, I would suggest browsing your local used book store or library book sale for older issues instead of paying for the new version. You'll get much more bang for your buck.

Disappointed on March 27, 2009 by Love to Cook from O'Fallon, Illinois

  • Cons: Fewer Recipes

I have ordered Taste Of Home magazine for a long time and have kept all the issues in binders for years. I used the recipes for family and social events. I am very disappointed in the new format. There are not enough recipes and the recipes that are included are no longer family-oriented. I also loved the coupon recipes you could cut out and store in a recipe box. I have received as gifts other cooking magazine subscriptions and none in the past compared. I now am looking for a magazine with the old Taste of Home format. I will have to give serious thought to renewing my Taste of Home subscription.

Don't Like the New Format on March 26, 2009 by Millie from USA

I dislike the new format of Taste Of Home. The old format was easier to read and the recipes easier to use. I wish the editors would change it back!

Used to Love Taste of Home on March 24, 2009 by Appetizers from Central MN

I used to love my Taste of Home magazines BUT when my subscription is done it is DONE. The layouts are terrible, too much advertising and all in all not nearly as entertaining as it has been. Taste of Home should get back their old editors and powers that be and restore the magazine or else they will lose a lot of readers.
