ABOUT TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL VAULT

The Texas A&M University Football Vault chronicles Texas A&M football history, starting with the first game in 1894. Along with a story woven by 12th Man Magazine associate editor and longtime Aggies observer Rusty Burson, this scrapbook contains never-before-published photographs, artwork and memorabilia drawn from A&M's athletic department, campus archives and personal collections. Tucked into dozens of sleeves and pockets are reproductions of old game programs, historic tickets, numerous postcards and vintage photos. Fascinating replicas include the roster of A&M's inaugural 1894 team, a photo of the 1902 team that went 7-0-2 and shut out seven foes, a clipping of original "12th Man" E. King Gill, a 1927 program cover from the A&M-Texas game, a 1940 Sugar Bowl pennant, a 1956 telegram from Look magazine about Jack Pardee's All-America status, a 1968 Cotton Bowl ticket from the victory over Paul "Bear" Bryant's Alabama team, the 1986 media guide cover featuring coach Jackie Sherrill with that year's stars and a 1994 centennial 12th Man Foundation bumper sticker. No Aggie fan should be without this archive of Texas A&M's football history.
