If you only get one newspaper/magazine, this is it on September 05, 2008 by someone

  • Pros: Truly global coverage, well written, ads are neatly segregated in a clean layout
  • Cons: Every issue has an end.

Very well written, with poignant political and economic insight. There is (inevitably) a definite point of view, but The Economist is always honest and clear about its biases. A very stimulating read. While there are a fair number of ads, they aren't smattered in amongst the good stuff. The layout is very tasteful and not distracting. It feels like there are fewer ads than there are, and there is a LOT of content in each issue.

  • Pros: Impartial viewpoint, covers the world well, not too liberal or conservative, not sensationalized
  • Cons: none

Extremely well written and does not have an agenda or slant to it. I trust it more than I trust Newsweek or Time to deliver impartial news about America and the world. Highly recommended..

Fair and balanced on August 19, 2008 by Lucy from Boulder, Colorado

  • Pros: indepth and very international
  • Cons: none

I was surprised at the little amount of bias in this magazine. There's always a slant, but The Economist stands pretty tall and straight. It's a good read
