  • Pros: Most complete listing of things to do in the city
  • Cons: Not remotely family-friendly, Not geared towards married individuals, the stories and reviews are low quality, often arrives too late to take advantage of listings

While this is in fact the most complete list I have yet to find of things to do in Chicago (especially free things and shows), I often find the content offensive and irrelevant to anyone but sexually promiscuous single people.

Time Out Chicago magazine is a fantastic guide to what is going on in Chicago each week. If you want to do something interesting, eat somewhere new, or catch an independent movie, this is your guide. It is also great for tourists!

Time Out Chicago magazine is OK for things going on with Chicago, but it does feel like the classifieds of a newspaper. Sometimes I don't want to look at it. I lose interest.
