About Psychology Today

First published in 1967, the magazine also gauges human reaction to major changes and life events, such as birth, career choices, marriages, adversity, and success. Psychology Today is designed to help us examine ourselves, and topics covered include a wide-ranging mix of self-improvement, relationships, medical advice, professional interest, sexuality, food and nutrition, parenting and family, alternative medicine, career issues, and mental health and fitness. From self-help to our relationships, from anxiety to parenting, Psychology Today covers it all each month.

Content in the magazine is organized into the following sections: "Insights," an examination of our attitudes toward physical appearance, plus diagnostic tips to manage a range of ailments and how to choose a psychologist; "Health," which addresses emotional well-being and the factors that influence it; "Food Chain," a closer look at our connection with food and the latest in nutrition research; "Solutions," tips and tricks for solving life's little problems; "Personality," insightful Q&A's and essays about interesting people and experiences; and "Relationships," which contain short stories about powerful moments and an advice column.

Anyone interested in learning more about human behavior and what motivates us to act the way we do would enjoy a subscription to Psychology Today magazine!

Psychology Today magazine is wonderful for getting you to think about the world in a more abstract perspective because you are encouraged to self-reflect on the topics. I love the articles as they are always relevant to my life and I know many people who enjoy the magazine even if they are not psych buffs or thoroughly interested in psychology. The articles are well written and provide insight to alternatives to the majority thinking.

As a studying mental psychology major, I subscribed to this magazine only to find it to be not geared towards psychology or even science based. It is much more along the lines of a cosmo magazine. Also, I thought that each magazine seemed to have really similar articles and it just started to get boring to read.

Good Publication

By PsychMom

from Philadelphia

Psychology Today is a helpful tool for students and should be offered to students through Universities and should be discussed in classroom forums. Ads should not be heavily based on behavior meds. However, Pharmacology weighs very heavy in the market.

Great Mag!

By MagGirl

from Georgia

I love Psychology Today magazine because it's a quick read for current research. It's nice to get an overview of new research but doesn't take as long to read as reading journals.

Wait for everyone

By Rits

from Long lost

I love to read Psychology Today magazine. I drive the house crazy with all the facts I run around telling them. I can say I really wish there was more to it. I feel like the magazine is a bit to short. I think they could very easily add more.

Pretty good magazine.

By Dr. S

from New York

Psychology Today magazine is fun. I recommend it for anyone interested in the psychological sciences whether or not they are in the mental health professional. For those in mental health, this is a fun read, a break from more complex and complete journal articles.
