My son is five and loves getting Your Big Backyard magazine. The stories are short and easy for him to understand. The illustrated characters are fun and he looks forward to them.
We discovered Your Big Backyard at the dentist's office. My daughter started looking at it before seeing the dentist, and wouldn't leave the office until she had looked at every page. We ordered it that day and have been happy with it ever since. It's even an enjoyable magazine for adults to read to children. It's well-written (not everything in this age group is). It has just the right amount of content as another reviewer stated. It keeps my child's interest and makes her want to read too. I'm thinking of giving subscriptions as gifts.
