I have subscribed to this magazine since its launch and have rarely been disappointed. There is a palpable flavor of traditional spiritual views. This is unsurprising despite the assumed target audience (18-34 American Christians) being statistically less traditional. I suppose it's the safer route to appeal to the broadest audience across the geographic, spiritual, and political maps. This is also likely a good way to secure acceptance in traditional church organizations. This is not necessarily a Bible study companion (as one reviewer seems to have criticized it for), but simply a very well done periodical for God-centric individuals with more nuanced cultural awareness.

This is a magazine that discusses topics that often are taboo for other "Christian" magazines. While I applaud the willingness to get away from the religious mindset, I often wish there would be more focus on Christ. This magazine is very much about God, but only sometimes about Jesus. If you know this going in, then the magazine can be very thought provoking. If you expect a Christian perspective, you will often be disappointed.

Relevant magazine was recommended to me from a friend (also a Christian) that contains interviews and articles that span a wide variety of topics (music, politics, daily life), yet has a Christian focus. The magazine has not let me down. It does focus on the 20-something demographic, but I'm well into my 30s and still enjoy it. The Jan/ Feb '08 issue reported on views from all political candidates, and is not biased, unlike many Christian magazines. Basicaly, this magazine puts information out there, and lets you make your own conclusions- a rarity indeed.
