I always find something interesting to read in Scientific American - the illustrations are great, the topics are varied, the articles are generally well written and informative. I've been a subscriber for 10+ years. If you interested in science and want to read a wide range of interesting, technical detailed articles, this is the magazine for you. I highly recommend Scientific American.
Scientific American is a great magazine that is very informative and speaks on many issues that are being currently discussed in the public realm. In order to keep all of its readers informed however, they rehash topics many times over. ex. I have read many many articles about neutrinos. That being said, they provide insightful and interesting commentary on a wide range of scientific happenings.
Magazine is a shell of its former self. Lacking in both quantity and quality now. After 30 years as a loyal subscriber, I am done. The evening news is almost as good and that is really pathetic.
I used to look at my dad's SA when I was a kid, not my kids peek at mine and I truly enjoy a peek into all areas of science.
This magazine has stayed true to form for years. Excellent writing and updates on science topics.
Scientific American magazine is still a leader for making breaking scientific discoveries easily understandable.
I know, it's 2010 and many people have jumped on the evolution bandwagon (even if they truly know very little or nothing about evolution), but Scientific American magazine takes it to the next level.
I am sick and frankly, really tired of Scientific American promoting evolution as a fact of science in every issue. Evolution has no business even being in Scientific American magazine.
SA is one magazine that is eagerly awaited in my household. I always learn something fascinating in each issue and there is always plenty of food for thought. The articles are extremely well-written and researched. Usually, they are technical enough without being too technical. Occasionally, an article gets too mumbo-jumbo and I stop reading it, but that is the exception. The mag has a great website, too. My husband and I are always saying to one another, "Did you see that article in this month's Scientific American?" The mag has sparked many great conversations.
Scientific American Magazine Subscription Review
Hi. I’m Jay Clarke, CEO of Magazines.com.
Scientific American magazine is the oldest running monthly publication in America. First published in 1845 as a weekly newspaper, some of the brightest minds in science have contributed articles to Scientific American over the past century and a half, including Albert Einstein himself.
Each issue is filled with cutting-edge information and news on the latest scientific ideas, theories and technologies. And it’s not just physics, it really spans every field of science. From Astrophysics, geology and biology, to medicine, forensics and even paleontology, a Scientific American magazine subscription really covers the full spectrum.
Now I do want to point out that while Scientific American focuses on the sciences, you don’t need to be a scientist to either understand or enjoy this magazine. It really strikes a great balance between providing unique, in-depth pieces that are also easily to digest.
