I purchased this subscription for my husband's birthday. He loves the magazine! He says there are lots of great stories on practicing Buddhism and inspirational articles.

While I've always enjoyed reading this magazine I don't think I've ever been motivated to subscribe. It's definitely professionally designed - and designed for ALL schools and traditions. Being more interested in Mahayana school myself, I prefer a publication with a narrower focus. I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from reading or subscribing to this magazine. IF you're interested in a publication that focuses on Tibetan Buddhism, I'd recommend "MANDALA" (which unfortunately is not offered through this website.) Mandala isn't as 'slick' - paper isn't as glossy, maybe not quite as many articles 'in color', and not quite as much advertising, but many meaningful articles. Fortunately, from my perspective, even the ads in these types of magazines can be interesting reading, because many are relevant to the subject (e.g. books reviewed, supplies, etc.)

I am re-newing my subscription to this magazine. I recently started practicing Buddhism and this magazine has some wonderful articles.
