I agree with the comment that if you haven't seen this magazine, then you can't appreciate it! It is the absolute best for card ideas of any magazine out there. Compared to the other card magazines, this one is actually thick and with many, many more ideas in it. The quality of the publication is extremely high and I, also, keep every single issue. Yes it is pricey, but there are discounts available IF you look around the 'net. But as we all know, you get what you pay for. And this is one that I read through many, many times, not just once and throw in recycle.
Yes there are some ads, but nothing compared to some of the other publications. Check out some other papercrafting magazines and it can be page 15 before you get beyond the ads, with many of them nothing to do with papercrafting! I have sampled all of the others and there is no comparison to this one for content and quality. Plus I like that these cards are "doable" and not something that takes many supplies and hours of work. You can make them as simple or as complex as you want, yet each is beautiful in it's own way. Even if I don't care for the actual card pictured, I can usually find some element to incorporate in my own.

I am disappointed to see a bad review here from someone who has not even SEEN the product! If you want to look it over in person prior to subscribing, I've seen it at craft stores. But why lower the star rating for an item you've not even seen???
This mag is fabulous mostly because it lists the source of all the materials. So if I see a stamp or die cut that I'm totally in love with and have to have, it tells me the name and brand - so I can get one for my own use!
The only thing I might tweak just a little is perhaps a few more pages dedicated to more detailed instruction on advanced techniques that not everyone knows.
But it's a big thick magazine - quality paper - feels good in my hands - full of great detailed color pictures. It's the best I've come across yet!
Take Ten is an excellent way to get ideas for making greeting cards. It is pricey, but I think of it as a book purchase, because I keep every issue I buy. It has a good mix of stamping styles from cute to vintage. Although instructions are given for every card, this is not really a how-to magazine. Like all Stampington magazines, it does have a lot of ads for other Stampington publications, but they are relevant to the content.
Take Ten magazine is a fabulous idea book if you are a card stamper. There are lots of great ideas and the quality of the photos is excellent. There is a good variety of simple cards and some that are for a more advanced stamper.
For Take Ten magazine the per magazine cost would be $15.00. For that cost, I want a magazine to contain numerous ideas and tips. I want to be able to look through the magazine before I buy it at that cost. I have seen many paper crafting magazines at newsstands not worth $5.00 much less $15.00! I have bought several British publications for about that much but was disappointed when I started looking through them and searching online for the products needed to produce scrapbook pages and cards. I had no luck in finding them on-line, or you had to be a wholesaler, or the postage would eat you up. I have become more selective in the magazines I purchase.
