I want to love this magazine. I get four other food magazines, and this is the most lacking. There aren't enough recipes. If you like reading about food, and especially southern novelty food shops, then this is for you. If you want a magazine that is mostly about cooking and recipes, I'd pass.
Loved the photography throughout and the easy recipes. Would buy again. Especially at Christmas time.
I subscribed to Taste of the South magazine as soon as I bought the first issue. The articles are interesting and informative. But the recipes are the reason I love it! They look good and taste good! And they are not intended for only the best chef to make. I have made many of them and I always get raves.
Within a sea of cooking magazines, Taste Of The South easily falls into the top ten must haves. This genteel, chock full of great recipes and pictures cooking magazine is a sure threat to anyone watching their weight. There are several tested recipes in each issue that are well worth trying. Think Paula Deen, Southern Living & Southern Lady Magazine - and getting the best recipes from each one!
I'm never disappointed when I pull Taste of the South magazine from the mailbox. I have visited restaurants while on vacation that were featured. They have always been just as presented. The recipes are great and beautifully photographed.
