This magazine is the best I have read, and being around wood working and renovations for 45 years I have read many. The topics are across the board enough so that every reader will have at least an article or two that is worth the cost of the subscription, many times over. The reader is not talked down to like a novice, nor left with lots of questions that would be general knowledge to a professional. I do find most projects to be on the upper end of the scale as far as materials used, tools needed and skills involved. But the serious homeowner can adapt with materials and tools, and I believe every home owner wants to be challenged to work more skillfully with each project undertaken. Get your hands on just two months of this magazine and I believe you will agree it should be a resource for every homeowner.

I decided to just try this magazine out as a Christmas gift for my husband. Now every time a new issue comes, I look at it from cover to cover, as well as he. I love getting ideas for house decor, garden decor, and their gardening tips. My husband likes to do things on his own and is great at it, and so the home improvement articles in this magazine that I don't understand at all, help him to complete his own DIY projects. I would definitely recommend this magazine to anyone who has their own home!

Great magazine for those that care about charm and character in a home. Wonderful creative ideas!
I really enjoy this magazine and I was surprised to see how many articles I find helpful and relate-able. I checked this magazine out at my local library before purchasing. I thought it would be all about carpentry. While there are some articles that are heavy in carpentry detail/instruction that I know I will personally not use, I was pleasantly surprised at how many ideas I have gotten from this magazine for decorating, projects in my garden, for making minor repairs or troubleshooting a problem, and for my upcoming kitchen remodel. I look forward to receiving this magazine every month.
I recommend this magazine for a new homeowner even if you don't have an old house.
It's easy to give magazine subscriptions, and Magazines.com has a good variety and price. It also reminds me when renewal gift subscriptions are coming up--makes it easy for me!

I love the easy to understand instructions and seeing new products and tools.
For years I've enjoyed the magazine 'This Old House' and to today it's still providing new and useful tips, information, and instruction on different projects and upkeep for your home and garden. I wouldn't still choose to be a subscriber if it didn't!
I love the show, This Old House & was excited to receive the magazine, but have not been as impressed as expected. Some projects have been very interesting, but most of them were of no interest to me.
I don't have a particularly old house but the articles in This Old House magazine are still interesting and relevant.
I started a subscription to This Old House magazine after purchasing my first house.

This Old House Magazine Subscription Video Review.
Hi. I’m Adam from Magazines.com.
I love working on my house. I’m actually in the midst of my second complete home renovation. I learned a lot during our first one and have to admit that my wife and I definitely caught the DIY bug after that. There’s just something really awesome about being able to look around your home knowing the amount of seat equity you’ve put into it.
That being said, I don’t always love the process as anyone who’s been through a renovation can attest to. This is where having a good resource is a huge asset. I started subscribing to This Old House magazine last year and can’t tell you how useful it’s been for me during this renovation. I’ve really saved a lot of time and thanks to the tips and in this magazine.
Some of my favorite features you’ll find in each issue include weekend DIY projects, low-cost project ideas, and top ways to save money around the house. It’s really become a how-to resource library for me for everything having to do with our home. That’s what makes this publication so valuable. It’s definitely not one of those magazines you read and throw away. You’ll find yourself saving these to reference back to down the road when new projects come up.
A side tip – read an article in this before you start your next project. I find that prep work helps cut down my time at the local home improvement store, and keeps me from making multiple trips as I tend to go into a project much more prepared.
