About Travel + Leisure

Many of the magazine's itinerary suggestions involve exotic European or Caribbean destinations, but it also includes a wealth of general travel advice, as well as hotel and restaurant reviews for popular vacation sites in the U.S and abroad. Hotel and restaurant reviews also include price ranges to help plan for every part of your journey. Travel + Leisure's insider tips give the lowdown on best places to eat, best places to stay, and best things to do wherever the destination.

Every issue includes invaluable suggestions on managing problems, packing, and planning in regular columns, such as "The Fix," how to navigate everything from bad weather to a snoring seatmate; "Packing," how-to's on everything from the best way to fold clothes to comfy shoe recommendations; "Planning," a list of popular vacation spots and off-the-beaten-path itineraries; "Tech," editor picks on must-try apps to stay connected while traveling out of the country; and "Tagged," top attractions, historical sites, or out-of-the-way gems in a different destination each month. Special issues published throughout the year include: "The Food Issue," "The Hotels Issue," and an issue dedicated to the magazine's "World's Best Awards" it names every year.

Travelers who want to experience cities close to home or abroad like a local would enjoy the insider advice found in a Travel + Leisure magazine subscription!

Travel & Leisure Magazine Subscription Review Video

Hi. I’m Christen from Magazines.com.

I love to travel and am always planning my next getaway. No matter what type of vacation I’m planning, Travel and Leisure magazine always gives me the inside track on where to go next and how to have a good time.

Whether it’s a respite from my day to day life, or a thrill-seeking adventure that I’m after, Travel and Leisure is the key to keeping me in the know about my favorite destinations and the ones I’ve yet to discover. And it’s no wonder when you consider they’ve been at this travel thing for 40 years.

So, sure, you want to know what new great restaurants have opened in Napa Valley since you were there last, or what about the best food that Moscow or Istanbul has to offer? Places like these might seem far-off, but Travel and Leisure makes them accessible to both seasoned and novice travelers.

And it’s not just the far-off and the Far East that are featured in this travel bible. You don’t need a stamp on your passport to prove you’ve really been somewhere fabulous. That’s why you’ll find “five emerging destinations” for road trips stateside and the tips to capture it all, thanks to iPhoneography tutorials.

These days, life moves faster, making the need to get away even more of a must. With Travel and Leisure you’ve got a trusted travel agent who can hook you up with the best family and romantic destinations out there and can even tell you how to get there in style.

Thanks for checking out my review and the current Travel and Leisure subscription discounts and offers from Magazines.com.

I look forward to this magazine every month. The articles are beautifully photographed and written. I've used it for inspiration on where to go next, and for a reference once I get there.

For those who criticize the magazine for being only for people who have more money than average, well, yes, that's true. Every magazine addresses a particular audience. This doesn't mean the magazine is bad - it's just not for you. Check out Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel instead. I'm not sure why you subscribed to T&L in the first place. You can pretty much figure out from looking at the cover who the magazine is for, and who it is not for.

I do have money to spend on travel, though not an unlimited amount, and i feel that T&L fits my needs perfectly. The hotel suggestions always have one or two good value options in there in addition to the higher end (nb: good value doesn't mean cheap. This is not Europe on $25 a day. But you do get recommendations for hotels with good facilities, services, & locations in the $100-$200 price range.) The destinations range from the very well known - in which case, they try to take an unusual angle to the story - to the up & coming. It's not for the adventure traveler, but I use other sources to discover places that are truly not on the radar.

In comparison with Conde Nast Traveler, the nearest competitor magazine, I would say that T&L is probably slightly higher end, and less geared towards families. I'm a travel junkie, so I subscribe to both, though I like T&L more because I think it's a nicer design, and I'm not interested in cruises (which CN Traveler features quite a lot). CN Traveler is also a bit more helpful & practical (listings of top travel agents & villa rental booking agencies, the Ombudsman) and T&L is more aspirational/inspirational.

This magazine looks for the best of the best without any real attempt to provide recommendations for people who are not wealthy. Typical deals show saving of $499 but the package is $3500. Excellent photos and design. I won't renew and will flip thru it next time I'm in the doctor's waiting room (he can afford these travel recommendations).

It's a great magazine for looking at the beautiful travel destinations, mostly for those who have lots of money to spend on the best resorts and locales to stay in. We can always dream!

This is a great magazine with very good layout. I subscribe to various travel magazines so I can say this one caters more toward luxury travel which for a person like me, who tends to splurge sometimes on vacations, really broaden my knowledge of cool spots around the globe.

I like Travel & Leisure a lot. It gives you good deals on hotels and resorts and restaurants to eat at. It also gives you information on out-of-the-way places to get away to.

    Beautiful Goals

    By JJ

    from Long Beach, CA

Every month when I get Travel + Leisure magazine in the mail I am reminded as to why I work so hard. Each location is more beautiful and inviting than the next. The sumptuous photos draw me in and before I know it I am planning my next vacation. The only con is the amount of extra work required to pay for the vacation. However, it is always worth it!

Not the travel magazine for me

    By Jessilynn28

    from Wisconsin

I do not plan on renewing my subscription to Travel + Leisure magazine. If you are looking for straight-up tips and deals, this is not the magazine for you. The magazine is geared more towards the wealthy or those that can afford luxurious vacations. The articles often are too long and use showy wording.

Happy with content and ads...the reason I subscribed

    By Anne

    from LA

Travel + Leisure magazine has exactly the information we were looking for on travel ideas. I feel the advertisers are legitimate. The in-depth articles spark your interest and are informative. We just love to read it. The high end places offer lots of ways to go to them. Much better than being stuck in an undesirable place when it's too late to change.
