Alright, I'll admit, Young Rider magazine has some good points; It's the only one of its kind (just for kids), and some of its information is useful. But really, I think the people in charge are running out of things to write about. I think that Young Rider magazine needs work. It has too much fluff and your money is better spent on something like Horse and Rider or Horse Illustrated magazine.

The thing about this magazine is, yes it is a good thing for people with hoses to read but for those who don't have anything but a horse craze, the only thing useful about it is the pictures. The only thing I found where it even remotely talks about those who don't have horses was half a page on preparing for a new horse. Yes, I know it is mainy about those that do own, but for some they can't even afford lessons. In my opinion this magazine is just a bunch of tips, advertisements and spotlights on the lucky ones who do have a horse.

Young Rider magazine is a really good magazine for both children and adults. I do wish it was a little cheaper though.
Young Rider magazine is an absolutely one of the best magazines ever.

I love Young Rider magazine. I totally recommend it.
I love reading Young Rider magazine. They have so many useful articles for me to read and they also have fun articles like short stories, stories about other young riders, great pictures and free posters. When we have to go somewhere and I have to wait for a while I usually grab a Young Rider magazine to read while I wait. I love reading it!
Young Rider has good information about shows and interesting columns. One of my favorite issues was when they had an article on Gina Miles. The posters are really cool, too. In every issue there's an English riding lesson and a western riding lesson.
Young Rider is my favorite horse magazine. It is very kid-friendly, but I find it interesting as well. I started getting it for my horse-loving young daughter, but I read it even more than she does. I have subscribed for several years and find the articles easy to read and understand. I enjoy it even more than the other 5 or so horse mags I have subscribed to in the past. Most other mags are directed at people with lots of horse knowledge already, but Young Rider can be fully enjoyed and put to use by novice horsepeople too.
