Animal experts, such zookeepers or scientific consultants, oversee the content in each issue to ensure it is accurate. Ideal for visual learners, Zoobooks combines color photos and diagrams with detailed captions that describe the featured animal's anatomy, habitat, life cycle, and more.
An activities section features a selection of games, including word searches, secret codes, and picture puzzles. Each issue also comes with a tear-out poster. The magazine encourages its readers to share drawings, poems, or stories about what they've learned to possibly be featured in future Zoobooks issues, and it is ad-free to help keep children engaged in learning.

My six and eight yr. old love receiving Zoobooks magazine. I like that one animal is featured in each magazine. The articles must be read to children in 3rd gr. and under, though the articles are very informative.
As mom to a 7 year old boy, I was looking for something for him to read that was both educational as well as interesting for him. He is a rising 2nd grader and loves to read Zoobooks magazine, plus getting mail with his name was a great thing to him! While he greatly enjoyed the overall content of the 1st magazine, some of it was still a bit tricky for him to read alone (and he's actually a great reader for his age group). The overall length of the articles are a bit long for a young reader alone and use new words for him (but he liked that--but meant I couldn't leave him to read it alone. But I feel like it is something that he is learning from as it was detailed, as well as not being totally loaded with ads! Love that!
My boys have been getting this for a little over a year. They love it!! They get so excited when their own magazine comes in. I think it is an awesome way to teach children about the creatures of our earth!
This has been a GREAT FIND! I have a son who is a true ANIMAL LOVER at heart and he LOVES these. I love them because they are full of interesting pictures & photographs plus things I never knew about animals I have known about all my life (like how eagles and other birds of prey have 3 eyelids!) We ordered National Geographic for kids but it was too cluttered with adds and funky graphics that it lost my son's interest. He asks to read/look at these....
