About Babybug

Each of the magazine's nine annual issues are filled with action rhymes, Mother Goose and other traditional nursery rhymes, basic concepts, and simple stories small children can relate to.

Babybug's recurring story series is titled "Kim and Carrots," which follows a young child on her adventures with her stuffed bunny, Carrots. In terms of art, the magazine showcases a variety of styles and media, such as paint, watercolors, tapestry, collages, and pastels. Issues are comprised of 24 sturdy cardstock pages with rounded corners that are assembled with non-toxic glue and ink.

The magazine's binding contains no staples, another safety feature designed to protect little ones. Like other magazines published by The Cricket Magazine Group, Babybug accepts no advertising, so its colorful pictures and educational rhymes can be enjoyed by parents and children with no additional distractions. Every issue also includes a guide for parents that offers insight into early child development and suggestions for making reading more enjoyable for young children.

Awesome for Young Children!

We love Babybug magazine. The little one looks forward to getting mail and this is such a big surprise. The magazine is small enough to take with you. The stories are short, very good for quick reading like in waiting rooms. The pictures are bright in color. Babybug is a really a cute starter magazine.

No accounting for taste

By Dad

I don't know why my 2 yr old loves these so much, but she does. They are small booklets with stories/poems ranging from one to four pages. The stories are easy for her to memorize. Many nights she picks them over the classics and during the day or in the car she will pick them up and pretend-read them. I would think that a booklet with five to ten completely different stories would be confusing to a toddler, but I guess not.
