The magazine was originally called Fruit, Garden & Home until it was changed to its current name in 1924. Each month, 7.6 million readers enjoy Better Homes and Gardens. Standard issues are full of house projects so that you can redecorate your house one room at a time, outdoor architecture and ways to make your garden unique. Family Matters provides advice on finances, raising kids, and fun things to do with your family. The Foods section contains numerous recipes for weeknight meals, simple snacks, creative desserts and more. Often the magazine will feature articles on decorating for the current season or holiday, as well as recipes for entertaining and party ideas. Other magazines published by Meredith Corporation include Ladies Home Journal, More, and American Baby. Better Homes and Gardens is also well known for its brand of cookbooks, home plans and other special interest publications.

Better Homes & Gardens keeps up with current decorating trends without being extreme. In every issue I end up tearing out several pages to keep for reference or inspiration.

I consider Better Homes & Gardens the best magazine for inspiring me. I get new ideas, learn about new products and generally have improved the look and feel of my home. I keep the back issues and skim back occasionally and see new things each time. A must have.

Too old fashioned on February 27, 2009

Seems like this magazine is for an older crowd. The homes and gardens featured are very traditional and someone I would expect at my grandma's house, not mine. I do like the recipes and other content.
