EatingWell is a very classy magazine. Most of the recipe ingredients are whole foods/fresh varieties.

- Pros: Great variety of dishes, seasonal foods featured, introduction to easy ethnic recipes, All Healthy!
- Cons: Some ingredients might require a visit to a specialty or ethnic market
I'm a college student, and I'm learning to cook (and eat healthy, I've lost 42 lbs in the past 10 months, mostly through healthy eating habits). The variety of recipes in this magazine is wonderful! My first issue I found at least 10 recipes I marked to try out. I made dinner for my parents and boyfriend, it was a Middle Eastern dish. I though it would be fun to try something different, and everyone really enjoyed it! As a newer cook, I found the recipes very easy to follow. Some of the tips were helpful, too (like rinsing canned beans or veggies before cooking in order to reduce sodium content). I'm a huge fan of this magazine because the recipes are tasty (some are even restaurant quality), but most are still easy and relatively quick to prepare (as a student who works part-time, the less Prep Time, the better!!). The best part about this magazine is that it's all healthy recipes and dishes, but doesn't lack ANY taste! Some of the ingredients may be harder to find, you may have to go to a specialty market or ethnic market, but 95% of the ingredients I'm able to find in my local supermarket (I'm in a Suburban area). There is a symbol key in the front, which indicates recipes that are Heart Healthy, Low Sodium, High Fiber, Low Cal, etc. This is great if you have diet restrictions, and in general most of the recipes are pretty healthy if you stick to the (reasonable) portions.

- Pros: Everything is so healthy and delicious and looks just like the stunning photograhy
- Cons: That it does not come monthly
EatingWell is focused while other cooking/food magazines try to do too many things. It totally understands the balnce between health and delicious food. Most of their recipes actually taste better than similar non-healthy ones I've made in the past. But It is more than a recipe magazine with their wonderful feature articles and nutritional columns. It inspires me to try new things. It's like a trusted friend
