Marie Claire is the perfect read for the professional, single woman in the 26-40 age range. I've always had a go-to lifestyle magazine since I was about 13, starting with Teen, then Seventeen, then Cosmo, then Glamour, now Marie Claire. If you're sick of the trendy, trashy stuff in Cosmo (more for the 22 year-old set) and are looking for more substance and thought provoking articles than Glamour, and aren't yet into the older, more family-focused publications like Redbook and O, this is the magazine for you. I say this is targeted toward single women, mostly because it doesn't have

I look forward to the monthly articles relating to women in different parts of the world. I also enjoy the fashion portions that actually show clothes that are worn by normal people rather than focusing on runway fashions which do not represent clothing available for wear for the normal female population.

• Pros: Lots of beautiful pictures and captivating articles.. good tips too
• Cons: Few articles were a little shorter than I would have liked

As a fashion/art student of sorts, I needed some good pictures of models for a presentation that I was doing. I didn't really pay much attention to which magazine I picked up, because, as I am not a big fashion magazine fan, I thought they were all the same. After reading this magazine a good 3 times, I realized that I must be wrong. The articles were entertaining, the photos captivating, and sometimes I even found myself lingering over the ads included. There was even a slight humor in the issue, which I was delighted to find in what I had thought would be a dull read. Needless to say, I found a different magazine to cut my pictures out of. Marie Claire sits on my desk, so I can find it when I want it. I definitely recommend!

Doing so much traveling with the USMC, you have very little time to actually find a great magazine. I took a chance and grabbed this one while out today and boy am i glad i did !! I can summorize my thoughts in three words.... "MOVE ASIDE COSMO p.s. i already subscribed !

• Pros: women's issues around the world, fashion, beautiful photos

This is by far my favorite magazine! It has opened my eyes to so many women's issues that are going on around the world--in Kenya, Denmark, the US... I never realized there were so many women who had struggles. This magazine also includes articles on politics, books, fashion, global warming, and more!
