Popular Mechanics is a great magazine. I got it when I was a teenager, and then completely forgot about it. I picked it up a couple of years ago in a doctor's office and fell back in love with it. I have been getting it ever since. I highly recommend it for anybody with an interest in engineering and technology.

- Pros: some good product reviews
- Cons: dumbed down
As a kid in the 1960's I eagerly awaited the arrival of my Dad's next issue of Popular Mechanics. It was full of entertaining informative stories, like Gus the Mechanic. It had detailed instructions for home improvement projects, repair instructions for appliances, detailed owner reports on vehicles and so much more. I sadly just ended my current subscription, as there is barely anything in the current issues. I read the whole thing in about ten minutes, ignoring most of the irrelevant short blurb-type articles. It is truly sad what has become of a once great magazine.
