We subscribed to this magazine after reading an issue of it. It started with me taking a copy home from the doctor's office. I found the articles so interesting that I was reading aloud to my husband while he cooked dinner. We were truly engaged in a story about California's Highway 1. That is not a topic that sounds interesting at all, and I would not look forward to it if someone mentioned it to me, and yet, there I was so enjoying how well-written it was that I was sharing it with someone else. My husband and I subscribed then, and have not been disappointed since. In fact, every year we purchase a new subscription for someone else, always loving to introduce new people to this great magazine. It's fun thinking through all of our friends and selecting who we think would most enjoy it.

- Pros: Beautiful photos of nature. Interesting articles.
- Cons: It's hard to find any.
I look forward to the arrival of my Smithsonian magazine every month. It is filled with articals on varied subjects and varied points of view.I find it interesting that some writers can take1800's poetry and relate that to a contemporary global lssues,(Thoreau's views in poetry and contemporary writers on global environmental concerns}. Read it and decide for yourself.

While I was killing time in an airport, I was very excited to see the cover of the latest smithsonian magazine. I have read a lot about Petra and the cover promised exciting new information. Well, what an complete disappointment. there was virtually no real content in the article, and, beleive it or not, I am totally un-interested in the writer's final meal with his guide. total fluff - increadible that the editor used it as the cover story.
