- Pros: disappointed in ads
- Cons: some good recipes
I had subscribed to Taste Of Home magazine for years. In fact we subscribe to Country, Taste of Home, and Birds & Blooms because we felt they were very well written, interesting and down to earth. BUT I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the new format of Taste of Homes and the advertisements, even the recipes. It's becoming like any other magazine. Taste of Home, I thought prided itself and boasted of no advertisements and I for one was happy for that. It was the reason we bought the magazines. I have not renewed my subscription. It is sad to see such a good product follow the steps of every other magazine and not set itself apart anymore. Did the editors ever think that keeping things the way they were and increasing the cost? They might be surprised that folks might pay a little more for the good ole way with no ads instead of dropping their subscription. Country and Birds & Blooms are following close behind with adding more advertising each month. Please go back to the way things were, editors.

- Pros: Lots of Great Recipes
Taste Of Home has Every Day Style of Cooking! And very good food. My mother-in-law bought me a gift subscription one year and I have been getting it ever since. I look forward to every issue.

I feel the same way Jan USA does about the Taste of Home magazine. I thought it was just me, but I see other people feel the same way. I have been ordering this magazine since their first issue. I had always liked the country feel of the magazine. I am very disappointed that they changed the whole format of the issues. I will not be renewing.

I used to look forward to browsing each new issue of Taste of Home, but with the new format, I toss it aside until later and after skimming it, I throw it in the garbage. It used to have REAL down-home recipes that my family loved, but now the recipes are like ones in all the other magazines, and I haven't made a single one from these new issues. I realize that some advertising is a necessity in this day and age, but why would they change everything else? I will not waste my money on a subscription renewal.

I have enjoyed Taste of Home magazine for a number of years and have sent it as Christmas gifts to about five friends. However, I do NOT like the new format. I hate the way the cut-out recipe section is being presented--I liked the old format. Also, it has become more fru-fru, like every other magazine.
