One of the best on September 30, 2008

  • Pros: Pull out pocket wine guides, hundreds of ratings
  • Cons: Price is a bit high for subscription

Wine Spectator is one of the best in the business. It is the primo wine grading magazine. If they say a wine is a 90. It's a 90. I have been happy with their wine recommendations. I enjoy reading about the different wine regions. They follow the wine market like the Stock Market, so it is good for investors. Wine lists cover the world with summaries on most wines graded over 80, on a 100-point scale. They don't really have recipes, but they do focus on a botique wine-related industry like boutique cheese or chocolate makers in each issue.
